An ode to my birthday. I like to think of trees when I think of getting older. Our material bodies kind of shrivel and get less majestic as we age, but I like to think that our souls and our lives grow and branch out into something majestic as we age. Kind of like trees do. The older the tree, the more beautiful and splendid it becomes with ring upon ring and branch upon branch. I guess it’s something to shoot for as I live and influence the people around me and am able to live better each year. It’s something that inspires me. So, here’s to aging! However much our culture tries to live in their early 20’s forever, the important thing is our legacy, how well we steward our time and who we become through all of it.
