Bon Bon is a little bar inside the Garland Theater and it’s kind of our neighborhood bar, we go there every once in a while for a tasty old fashioned cocktail. They make really great classics. When one of the bartenders told me they were doing an art show in the month of December celebrating Repeal Day I begged her for a spot in the show! It was organized by alphabet and I got “K” which was designated for an ode to Dale DeGroff aka “King Cocktail”. Supposedly the modern pursuit of classic cocktails is mainly owed to him and his approach to bartending.

I thought some fun typography based on the 1800’s style fonts would be a neat approach. The painting will be up at Bon Bon all month along with a bunch of artwork from other artists. Friday they celebrate the opening with live music, silent movies playing in the Garland and lots of other fun stuff. Be sure to check it out…
