I’ve been working on some new self-promotion design. My website has been up for almost a year and I have been wanting to redo it for a while. It’s been interesting to think about the kind of work I really want to keep doing and how to brand myself in a way that markets me in that direction. For some reason it is always more difficult to apply your skills and work knowledge to a project that represents you. I know so many designers that go years without a website, business cards or any kind of branded identity. I was one of them! Why do we always neglect ourselves? Is it busyness? That has been my excuse at times, and definitely is right now. But years have gone by where I have avoided doing anything in the name of self-promotion. We artists need to take more pride in what we do and part of that is giving ourselves the opportunity to be our own client.
