I love making simple skinny fonts like this one in illustrator, especially for posters. they are so easy to shape and manipulate so that no matter what space you need to fit in, or what letters you are combining, it’s easy to get an end result with a good composition.
When I was little I had a whinnie the pooh watch and little honey bees were the revolving second hand. I would always use their little kidney bean shaped bodies as reference when drawing my own cartoon bees. When I think of insects, it’s hard to actually imagine what the shape of their bodies look like. Always elusively flitting around. I guess that cartoon kidney bean shaped bee stuck with me.
