My most recent big project is doing branding for a new company in LA. They have a parent company called Think Music Group and three companies out of that, Think Music Education (music lessons), Think Music Live (live bands for events) and Think Music Artists (artist development). They needed a logo that could represent the overall idea of the company but also the distinct parts. This really has been one of the most exciting logos I’ve worked on and Brandon, one of the entrepreneur musicians, has been so amazing to work with. He even makes me mind maps of his feedback!! It’s refreshing to have clients that take their branding so seriously.

I usually start a logo with some thumbnail sketching just to see if anything pops out. Originally, I really wanted to try to make a brain work in the logo.

Next I got on the computer and messed around with lots of fonts, drafted up some thumbnails and continued to refine ideas. I usually present my clients with three very different options in the beginning of a logo process.

After this point, the client requested that I morph logos one and three and this is where we ended up. I’m really happy with it and we all agree that it suits the company and where it’s headed. I’m also designing their website and some print material, which I will be sure to share later on.

  1. I really like the last one before the two fused logos.

I wish they would've picked that one!
